MADAME WU RESTAURANT REVIEW
Saturday night in Brisbane, oh where to go out for dinner? Now here in Brisbane we are spoilt for choice for good quality restaurants in our wonderful city. We decided to head into the city, instead of our local haunts in Fortitude Valley.
We are lucky as we only have a 15 min walk down the river to get to Madam Wu’s. Situated on the upper level of Riparian Plaza, 71 Eagle Street, Brisbane, the venue has wide sweeping views of our most famous icon the Story Bridge.
Being a Saturday night I did book a table the night before and only options were for 5.30pm or 9pm. We choose 5.30pm and on the phone was told that the table was re-booked at 8.30pm. Three hours should be plenty of time to get through dinner and drinks, so we were happy with this time.
Upon arrival we were shown to our table straight away and given menus and the wine list and offered either tap or sparkling water. We then did have to wait about 15 mins to order a drink (after hailing down one of the staff members walking past). Once our drinks arrived you could not fault the service of the staff as they were very frequent at coming past our table, chatting with us and checking we were all okay.
We decided to order the Beef Cheeks braised in rock sugar and soy, black bean and chilli sauce - $35 and the Roasted pork belly, red onion, herbs, peanut, hot & sour dressing - $32 and Stir Fry Wok Greens, house made oyster sauce - $12. The meals did not take that long to come out at all. Now for two people this was definitely plenty and left feeling very satisfied indeed.
Our overall thoughts on this restaurant was that the service and food was excellent. We know that this one will be one of our favourites for sure.
They were quite busy this particular night as they had a group in the bar that were still there going strong after having a luncheon. This place tends to make you not want to leave as we ourselves have done this from a lunch there and ended up walking out of the place when it was dark.
You can book and check out their full menu on their website : http://www.madamewu.com.au
We can not wait to go again. You can bet your bottom dollar that we will be back real soon.
